Ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 apples
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ tablespoon vegan butter
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the apples: Chop the apples into bite-sized cubes, approximately ½ inch pieces. There is no need to peel the apples, as the skin adds flavor and texture.
- Mix ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the apple cubes with maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well until all the apple cubes are evenly coated with the mixture, ensuring every bite is flavorful.
- Arrange in the air fryer: Line the air fryer basket with a suitable liner. Transfer the coated apple cubes into the basket, spreading them out evenly. Then break the vegan butter into small chunks and evenly scatter them over the apples to add richness during cooking.
- Cook the apples: Cook the apples in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 minutes. There is no need to preheat the air fryer before cooking. The apples should be tender and caramelized when done.
- Serve: Serve the warm air-fried apples immediately as a snack, breakfast topping, or dessert. Alternatively, let them cool and store for later use. They pair wonderfully with yogurt, ice cream, or a sprinkle of granola.
Notes
- Use a liner to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
- Adjust cinnamon and maple syrup quantities to taste for more sweetness or spice.
- Serve warm for best flavor, but apples can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
