This Beef Tortellini Skillet is a quick and hearty one-pan meal featuring tender ground beef, flavorful seasoning, and cheesy tortellini. It’s perfect for busy weeknights when you want a comforting dish that comes together in under 15 minutes.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning

Liquids and Broth

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

Pasta

  • 1 package (19 ounces) frozen cheese tortellini

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is no longer pink, about 5-6 minutes. Use a spoon to crumble the meat evenly as it cooks, then drain excess fat.
  2. Season the Meat: Stir in the Montreal steak seasoning evenly throughout the cooked beef for enhanced flavor.
  3. Add Liquids and Bring to Boil: Pour in 1 cup of water and add 1 teaspoon of beef bouillon granules to the skillet. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Tortellini: Add the frozen cheese tortellini to the boiling mixture and stir. Return to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until the tortellini are tender.
  5. Melt the Cheese: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle the shredded Italian cheese blend over the tortellini and beef mixture. Cover the skillet again and let it stand for a few minutes, allowing the cheese to melt thoroughly.

Notes

  • For a richer taste, consider using fresh tortellini if available.
  • You can substitute beef bouillon with beef broth for added depth.
  • Adding a handful of fresh spinach or basil leaves when covering to melt the cheese adds freshness.
  • Make sure to drain the beef well to avoid excess grease in the final dish.
  • This recipe can be doubled to serve more people, just use a larger skillet.
