This easy Blackstone Griddle Taco Meat recipe features perfectly seasoned and juicy ground beef cooked quickly on a griddle. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s ideal for tacos, bowls, or burritos, making it a perfect choice for quick weeknight dinners.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Meat and Vegetables

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces ground beef ( pounds)

Spices

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the Griddle: Set your griddle over medium-high heat and allow it to get hot to ensure even cooking.
  2. Sauté Onions: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil on the hot griddle and add the chopped medium onion. Sauté the onions until they become translucent, releasing their sweetness.
  3. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the griddle and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, careful not to burn it.
  4. Cook Ground Beef: Add the 24 ounces of ground beef to the griddle. Use a spatula to break the meat apart and cook until it is browned thoroughly and no pink remains, ensuring it’s cooked through.
  5. Season the Meat: Sprinkle 2 teaspoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper evenly over the beef. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  6. Simmer and Meld Flavors: Let the seasoned meat cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to allow the spices to infuse fully into the beef.
  7. Serve: Remove the seasoned taco meat from the griddle and serve immediately. Use it as a filling for tacos, burritos, bowls, or your favorite dishes. Garnish with toppings like shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, or avocado as desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Adjust the chili powder and spices according to your preferred level of heat and flavor.
  • If you don’t have a griddle, a large skillet or frying pan can be used instead.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and texture; leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated.
  • Adding fresh lime juice or cilantro as garnish can enhance the flavor further.
