Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken (rotisserie or boiled)
- ½ cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Optional Toppings and Garnishes
- ¼ cup chopped green onions (optional)
- ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Buffalo Chicken Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, adjusting the spiciness to your preference. Stir in the shredded mozzarella and softened cream cheese until the mixture is well blended. Optionally, mix in chopped green onions for extra flavor.
- Unroll and Arrange Dough: Unroll the tubes of crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles. Arrange the triangles on the baking sheet in a circular pattern, placing the wide ends overlapping slightly to form a ring with pointed ends extending outward.
- Fill and Shape the Ring: Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture onto the wide ends of the crescent dough triangles, creating a continuous ring of filling. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends to enclose the mixture securely in a ring shape.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Add Blue Cheese (Optional): After removing the ring from the oven, sprinkle crumbled blue cheese over the warm top, if desired, allowing it to slightly melt and add richness.
- Serve: Allow the buffalo chicken crescent ring to cool for a few minutes, then slice into portions. Serve warm with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken or boiled chicken to save time when shredding the chicken.
- Adjust buffalo sauce quantity to control the heat level of the dish.
- For a milder version, substitute buffalo sauce with a milder wing sauce or BBQ sauce.
- Chopped green onions add a fresh crunch but can be omitted if preferred.
- Cream cheese should be softened to facilitate easy mixing.
- To make it spicy keto-friendly, consider using low-carb crescent dough or making your own.
- Serve immediately for best taste and texture; leftovers can be reheated in the oven.
