Delicious and elegant chocolate covered strawberries made by dipping fresh, ripe strawberries into smooth, melted chocolate. This easy no-bake recipe takes just 10 minutes to prepare and makes a perfect treat or gift for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 24 chocolate covered strawberries

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 16 ounces fresh strawberries (about 24 strawberries)

Chocolate

  • 12 ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Prep the strawberries: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Ensure they are completely dry and at room temperature, as any moisture or chill can prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Using a double boiler on the stove, melt the chocolate chips gently, stirring constantly until smooth and silky. Alternatively, microwave the chocolate in 20-second increments, stirring between each until fully melted.
  3. Dip the strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the leaves, slowly dip it into the melted chocolate up to near the top, rotating to coat all sides evenly. Lift the strawberry and gently shake off excess chocolate. For a clean finish, scrape off excess chocolate from the underside by rubbing it lightly on the side of the bowl.
  4. Let the chocolate harden: Place the dipped strawberries on the prepared baking sheet and allow them to air dry for 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature. For firmer chocolate, refrigerate after this period.
  5. Serve: Enjoy the strawberries as they are, or enhance presentation with a decorative drizzle of contrasting chocolate varieties such as white or dark chocolate.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry; moisture prevents chocolate from sticking well.
  • Use good quality chocolate for best taste and smooth texture.
  • Room temperature strawberries help chocolate adhere better than cold ones.
  • Store finished strawberries in the fridge if not serving immediately to keep chocolate firm.
  • Try mixing different kinds of chocolate chips for variety and an aesthetic drizzle.
