Ingredients
For the Burgers
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Sauce
- 3 tbsp organic, no sugar added, Paleo approved ketchup
- 2 tbsp Paleo mayo
- 1 dill pickle, minced
- 1 tsp mustard
The Rest of Ingredients
- 4 Paleo buns
- 4 slices Paleo cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- ½ red onion, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- Melted coconut oil for greasing pan
Instructions
- Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, place the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat to keep the patties tender.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty approximately ½ inch thick for even cooking.
- Preheat Grill Pan and Grease: Heat a large grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, brush the surface with melted coconut oil to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the grill pan and cook for 3 minutes on each side, ensuring they develop a nice sear while cooking through.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the Paleo ketchup, Paleo mayo, minced dill pickle, and mustard. Stir together and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Burgers: Place each cooked patty on a Paleo bun. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, a slice of Paleo cheese, and a generous dollop of the homemade sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- Use high-quality grass-fed beef for optimal flavor and Paleo authenticity.
- Adjust seasoning in the sauce according to your taste preference.
- For a juicier burger, avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking.
- You can substitute coconut oil with avocado oil if preferred.
- Make sure the grill pan is hot before adding the patties to achieve a good sear.
