Ingredients
Brownie Base
- 1 box brownies (18.3 ounce size)
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Decorations
- Candy melts
- Decorating gels
- Candy sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownie Batter: Follow the instructions on the back of the brownie box by combining the brownie mix with 2 eggs, 3 tablespoons of water, and 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Stir until just combined to form the batter.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the prepared batter into the baking pan and bake according to the directions specified on the box, usually at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the Brownies: Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan at room temperature to ensure they set properly and are easier to cut.
- Cut into Egg Shapes: Take an egg-shaped cookie cutter and carefully cut the cooled brownies into individual egg shapes by pressing gently into the brownie slab.
- Decorate the Brownie Eggs: Use candy melts, decorating gels, and sprinkles to creatively decorate each egg-shaped brownie to resemble colorful Easter eggs. Allow decorations to set before serving.
Notes
- Ensure brownies are fully cooled before cutting to avoid crumbling.
- If you don’t have an egg-shaped cutter, use a small oval cutter or carefully shape with a knife.
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the brownie batter.
- Store decorated brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Candy melts can be gently warmed in the microwave to make decorating easier.
