Ingredients
Pasta
- 300 g tagliolini pasta, dried or fresh
- 2 liters of water for boiling pasta
Shrimp and Sauce
- 300 g large shrimp, frozen
- 250 g pasta sauce or homemade tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- Sea salt, to taste
- Cayenne black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Boil the Pasta: In a large soup pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add the tagliolini pasta and reduce the heat to a gentle simmer. Cook the pasta until it is fully tender but still slightly firm to the bite, usually about 6-8 minutes for dried pasta or less for fresh. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Shrimp: While the pasta cooks, place the frozen shrimp into a small saucepan. Add the butter and heat over medium, allowing the shrimp to simmer and the butter to melt completely. Continue cooking until any excess water from the shrimp evaporates, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Add Sauce and Spices: Pour the tomato sauce into the saucepan with the shrimp. Stir well to combine. Add the cumin powder, oregano, nutmeg, sea salt, and cayenne black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed to achieve a balanced and flavorful sauce.
- Drain and Combine: Once the pasta is cooked, drain it thoroughly to remove all excess water. Transfer the tagliolini to the saucepan with the shrimp and tomato sauce, tossing gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- Serve Immediately: Plate the pasta hot and serve straight away to enjoy the fresh, rich flavors of the shrimp and spiced tomato sauce.

- For best texture, avoid overcooking the tagliolini to keep it al dente.
- Frozen shrimp can be thawed beforehand for quicker cooking, but cooking from frozen is also effective.
