Instructions
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto one side of four slices of bread. Layer the sliced strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam over the cream cheese. Top each with another slice of bread to create sandwiches.
- Mix the Batter: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. This will be the coating for frying the sandwiches.
- Coat the Sandwiches: Dip each assembled sandwich in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are thoroughly coated for an even golden crust.
- Fry the Sandwiches: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sandwiches and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are crisp and golden brown. Fry in batches if necessary, adding more butter as needed.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the fried sandwiches from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess butter. Dust generously with additional powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy warm!
