This Garlic Flatbread recipe offers a quick and easy way to enjoy flavorful flatbreads without the need for kneading dough. Using a liquid batter infused with minced garlic and fresh coriander, this no-knead flatbread is cooked on a stovetop pan until golden and bubbly, making it a convenient and delicious choice for any meal.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 200 g All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 380 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Melted unsalted butter

Flavorings

  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 2.5 tbsp chopped coriander

For Cooking

  • 1 tsp Cooking oil (for pan)

Instructions

  1. Combine dry and wet ingredients: In a mixing container, add the all-purpose flour, salt, minced garlic, and water. Stir well until the batter is smooth and all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Add butter and coriander: Pour in the melted unsalted butter and fold in the chopped coriander. Mix thoroughly to distribute the flavors evenly throughout the batter.
  3. Heat the pan: Place a pan over medium heat and add approximately a teaspoon of cooking oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the flatbread batter: Using a large spoon, scoop about two half spoonfuls of batter into the hot pan, spreading it slightly to form a flat circle. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes on one side until you see bubbles start to form.
  5. Flip the flatbread: Turn the flatbread over and cook the other side for another 1 to 2 minutes, continuing to flip back and forth 2 to 3 times. This helps the flatbread cook evenly and develop bubbles.
  6. Adjust heat as needed: If bubbles appear, increase the heat to high to encourage them to grow larger and the flatbread to cook fully through.
  7. Repeat for remaining batter: Continue this process with the rest of the batter, adding more oil as needed to prevent sticking, until all flatbreads are cooked.

Notes

  • This flatbread is best enjoyed fresh and hot off the pan for optimal texture and flavor.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic and coriander based on your personal taste preferences.
  • To keep cooked flatbreads warm, place them in a low oven wrapped in foil while finishing the rest.
  • For a crispier texture, use a non-stick skillet or cast iron pan.
