A classic Greek Frappe Coffee recipe that delivers a frothy, refreshing iced coffee drink in just minutes. Made with instant coffee, sugar, water, ice, and milk, this beverage is perfect for a quick caffeine boost with a creamy, airy texture.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Frappe Coffee Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Instant Coffee (Nescafe Taster’s Choice French Roast recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1½ ounces water (for frothing)
  • Ice (nugget or larger cubes as preferred)
  • 8 ounces water (to fill)
  • 2 ounces milk

Instructions

  1. Combine Coffee, Sugar, and Water: In a tall glass, add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1½ ounces of water. This forms the base mixture that will be whipped into froth.
  2. Froth the Mixture: Using a hand frother, vigorously whip the coffee mixture until it becomes thick and almost triples in volume, creating a creamy foam layer essential to the frappe’s texture.
  3. Add Ice: Fill the glass about halfway (for nugget ice) or around three-quarters full (for larger ice cubes) with ice to chill the drink and maintain its refreshing character.
  4. Pour Water: Pour 8 ounces of water over the ice, leaving some space at the top for milk. Gently swirl or stir to combine the water with the foam and ice.
  5. Add Milk: Pour 2 ounces of milk into the glass to add creaminess and balance the intensity of the coffee.
  6. Final Stir and Serve: Give the drink a final swirl or stir to blend the milk with the foam and coffee mixture. Serve immediately, with or without a straw as per preference.

Notes

  • Choose instant coffee with strong flavor for the best frothy texture and bold taste.
  • The hand frother is essential for creating the characteristic thick foam of a Greek frappe.
  • Adjust sugar according to your taste preference or substitute with sugar alternatives.
  • Use cold or chilled milk and water to keep the frappe refreshing longer.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond, oat, or soy milk.
