A refreshing and floral Lavender Mocktail with Lemon combines the sweet and tangy flavors of blueberries and lemon juice with aromatic dried lavender and fizzy ginger kombucha. This easy-to-make beverage is perfect for a relaxing afternoon or a sophisticated non-alcoholic option at gatherings.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Lavender Syrup

  • 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or thawed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender buds (food grade)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons water

Mocktail

  • 1 ounce lavender syrup (prepared as above or store-bought)
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 cup ginger kombucha (or alternative)
  • Ice, for filling the glass
  • Lavender and dehydrated citrus slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Lavender Syrup: Add blueberries, dried lavender buds, honey, and water to a saucepan over low heat. Stir gently until the blueberries soften and burst, then mash them with a fork to release their juices and blend the flavors.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, pressing down with the back of a spoon to extract all the juice and flavors. Discard the solids and place the syrup in the fridge to cool completely.
  3. Assemble the Mocktail: Fill a glass with ice cubes. Add 1 ounce of the cooled lavender syrup, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 1 cup of ginger kombucha. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish your mocktail with a sprig of lavender and dehydrated citrus slices for an elegant presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing floral beverage.

Notes

  • Use fresh or fully thawed blueberries to ensure easier bursting and better flavor extraction for the syrup.
  • If using store-bought lavender syrup, adjust the amount to taste as sweetness and intensity may vary.
  • If ginger kombucha is unavailable, sparkling water or ginger ale can be substituted for similar fizz and flavor.
