This Melt in Your Mouth Caesar Chicken recipe features tender, flavorful chicken breasts baked with a creamy Caesar dressing, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese. With just 4 main ingredients and simple prep, it’s an easy and delicious weeknight dinner that’s both satisfying and quick to make.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Cheese & Seasoning

  • 1½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Sauces

  • 1 cup Caesar salad dressing
  • ½ cup sour cream, room temperature (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray the inside of an 8×11½-inch baking pan with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Even Out Chicken Thickness: If the chicken breasts vary in thickness, place them inside a Ziplock bag and pound gently on a flat surface to an even ¾ to 1-inch thickness using a meat pounder. This ensures even cooking.
  3. Season Chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and all the freshly ground black pepper. Arrange the seasoned breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Prepare Dressing Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar salad dressing and sour cream until combined. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  5. Bake Chicken: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a middle breast reads 150°F (65°C).
  6. Broil for Golden Finish: Switch the oven setting to broil. Broil the chicken breasts for 2-4 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning, until the top turns a golden brown. When done, the internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  7. Rest the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the oven and loosely cover with foil. Allow it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes to let the juices redistribute, ensuring moist and tender meat.
  8. Serve and Garnish: If desired, garnish the chicken with chopped fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

  • For even cooking, pounding the chicken to an even thickness is recommended.
  • Use an instant-read meat thermometer to check for safe doneness and avoid overcooking.
  • The sour cream is optional but adds extra creaminess to the sauce.
  • Watch the chicken closely when broiling to prevent burning.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
