Ingredients
Salmon:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound salmon fillets
- Salt
- Pepper
Orange Glaze:
- 1/2 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed from approximately 1 orange)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch, whisked with 1 teaspoon water (optional for a thicker glaze)
Instructions
- Heat skillet: Heat the butter or olive oil in a large skillet on medium-high.
- Cook salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper and add to the pan, skin side up. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Prepare glaze: Whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and cornstarch slurry, if using.
- Cook the glaze: Add the mixture to the skillet and heat until thickened.
- Coat salmon: Return the salmon to the pan, coat with the glaze. Add orange slices if desired.
Notes
- For a thicker glaze-like sauce, use the optional cornstarch slurry. For a thinner sauce, omit the slurry.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume within 2-3 days.
