This Peanut Butter Cup Dump Cake is a rich and decadent dessert featuring layers of creamy peanut butter, chopped peanut butter cups, sweetened condensed milk, and a chocolate cake mix. Topped with melted butter, milk chocolate chips, and more peanut butter cups, it’s baked to bubbly perfection and served warm, making it a perfectly indulgent treat for peanut butter and chocolate lovers.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Base & Layers

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1.5 cups chopped peanut butter cups, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 can (400 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 box (432 g) chocolate cake mix, dry
  • 115 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 175 g milk chocolate chips
  • Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking dish: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 23×33 cm (9×13-inch) baking dish with butter or non-stick spray to ensure the cake doesn’t stick during baking.
  2. Layer peanut butter: Spread the creamy peanut butter evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish, forming the rich first layer of the cake.
  3. Add candy layer: Sprinkle half of the chopped peanut butter cups evenly over the peanut butter layer, adding texture and extra chocolate-peanut flavor.
  4. Add condensed milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the candy layer to sweeten and moisten the layers.
  5. Add cake mix: Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the top of the condensed milk layer. Do not mix to maintain the layered effect.
  6. Drizzle butter: Drizzle the melted unsalted butter over the dry cake mix, covering as much surface as possible to help the cake bake moist and flavorful.
  7. Top with chocolate and candy: Sprinkle the milk chocolate chips and the remaining chopped peanut butter cups evenly over the top layer for a gooey, chocolatey finish.
  8. Bake the cake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and slightly crisp.
  9. Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent touch.

Notes

  • Do not stir the cake mix into the other layers; the layered effect is key to the cake’s texture.
  • Use a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish for best results to ensure proper baking and texture.
  • For a softer cake, cover loosely with foil for the first 20 minutes, then uncover to finish baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat before serving.
  • Feel free to garnish with additional chopped peanut butter cups or chocolate chips for serving.
