Ingredients
For the Wonton Cups
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 1½ tbsp olive oil (divided)
For the Shrimp
- 24 small or medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp cumin
- 1½ tbsp olive oil (divided, part used for wontons, part for shrimp)
For the Lime Crema
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp lime zest
Instructions
- Prepare Wonton Cups: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly brush both sides of each wonton wrapper with olive oil using a pastry brush. Press each wrapper into the cups of a mini muffin pan, shaping them into cups.
- Bake Wontons: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until the wonton cups are crisp and golden brown around the edges. Let them cool slightly, then carefully remove from the pan and place on a wire rack.
- Season Shrimp: In a large bowl or zip-top bag, combine shrimp with chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin. Toss until shrimp are evenly coated.
- Cook Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with the remaining olive oil. Add shrimp in a single layer, leaving space between each. Cook for about 2½ minutes per side until shrimp turn light pink, opaque, and slightly firm.
- Make Lime Crema: Whisk together sour cream, milk, lime juice, and lime zest in a medium bowl. Refrigerate while assembling.
- Assemble Bites: On a baking sheet or flat surface, place each wonton cup. Optionally add cheese or lettuce inside cups. Top each with a cooked shrimp and finish with a dollop of lime crema.
- Serve: Serve the shrimp taco bites warm for best taste and texture.

- For extra flavor, add chopped cilantro to the crema.
