Ingredients
For Rimming Glasses
- Kosher salt, as needed
- Extra lime wedges, for rimming and garnish
Cocktail Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces mezcal
- 2 ounces triple sec
- 3 ounces mango juice (preferably fresh or pure mango nectar)
- 2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 juicy limes)
- Optional: 1 ounce club soda (flavored as desired!)
Instructions
- Rim a frosty glass: Place a generous amount of kosher salt on a small plate. Take a wedge of lime and run it around the rim of a chilled glass to moisten it. Dip the rim carefully into the kosher salt to coat it evenly. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
- Mix the margarita: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the mezcal, triple sec, mango juice, and freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until well combined and chilled.
- Serve: Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared salt-rimmed glass filled with ice. If desired, top with a splash of flavored club soda to add a bit of fizz. Garnish with an extra lime wedge and enjoy your smoky mango mezcal margarita!
Notes
- For a smoother, richer mango flavor, use fresh mango juice or high-quality mango nectar.
- Adjust the amount of lime juice to taste for more or less tartness.
- Club soda is optional and can be flavored with citrus or tropical flavors for an extra twist.
- The cocktail is best served chilled with fresh ice to maintain the refreshing balance of flavors.
- To intensify the smoky notes, use a higher quality mezcal with pronounced smoky characteristics.
