A refreshing and smoky twist on the classic margarita, this Smoky Mango Mezcal Margarita combines the smoky flavor of mezcal with sweet mango juice and tangy lime for a vibrant, tropical cocktail perfect for warm weather or any festive occasion.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

For Rimming Glasses

  • Kosher salt, as needed
  • Extra lime wedges, for rimming and garnish

Cocktail Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces mezcal
  • 2 ounces triple sec
  • 3 ounces mango juice (preferably fresh or pure mango nectar)
  • 2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 juicy limes)
  • Optional: 1 ounce club soda (flavored as desired!)

Instructions

  1. Rim a frosty glass: Place a generous amount of kosher salt on a small plate. Take a wedge of lime and run it around the rim of a chilled glass to moisten it. Dip the rim carefully into the kosher salt to coat it evenly. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  2. Mix the margarita: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the mezcal, triple sec, mango juice, and freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  3. Serve: Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared salt-rimmed glass filled with ice. If desired, top with a splash of flavored club soda to add a bit of fizz. Garnish with an extra lime wedge and enjoy your smoky mango mezcal margarita!

Notes

  • For a smoother, richer mango flavor, use fresh mango juice or high-quality mango nectar.
  • Adjust the amount of lime juice to taste for more or less tartness.
  • Club soda is optional and can be flavored with citrus or tropical flavors for an extra twist.
  • The cocktail is best served chilled with fresh ice to maintain the refreshing balance of flavors.
  • To intensify the smoky notes, use a higher quality mezcal with pronounced smoky characteristics.
