Ingredients
Crackers
- 11 oz mini Saltine crackers
Seasoning Mix
- 1/2 cup avocado oil
- 2 tbsp Ranch dip seasoning blend (such as Hidden Valley)
- 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp dried dill (fresh dill can be used instead)
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
Instructions
- Prepare the seasoning blend: In a medium bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, ranch dip seasoning blend, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, dried dill, and cayenne pepper until fully combined and aromatic.
- Coat the crackers: Place the mini Saltine crackers into an easy-seal plastic bag and pour in the seasoning mixture. Seal the bag and gently massage to evenly coat all crackers with the spicy ranch mixture.
- Soak the crackers: Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Let the coated crackers sit in the sealed bag for about 10 minutes, allowing them to soak up the flavors.
- Bake the crackers: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Spread the seasoned crackers in a single layer on the sheet, then bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the crackers are lightly toasted and slightly crispy.
- Cool and store: Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool completely to crunch up. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. These crackers stay crispy for about a week. Enjoy your spicy snack!
Notes
- You can adjust the level of heat by adding more or less crushed red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper according to your preference.
- Using avocado oil helps keep the crackers crispy and adds a mild, buttery flavor.
- Fresh dill can be substituted for dried dill if preferred, just use slightly more to account for the milder flavor of fresh herbs.
- Store the crackers in an airtight container to maintain crispness and freshness for up to one week.
