  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 small chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning (or salt, pepper, garlic powder mix)

Bread and Garlic Butter

  • 1 Italian style loaf
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (or garlic paste)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Alfredo Sauce

  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Topping

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into ½ inch pieces. Place them in a bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, and season with 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning or a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a pan over medium heat, cook the chicken pieces until golden and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Prepare the bread and garlic butter: Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise in half. In a small bowl, combine 1 stick of melted butter, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, and 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes. Spread this mixture evenly on both halves of the bread.
  3. Toast the bread: Place the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes. Check after 5 minutes and continue toasting until the bread reaches your desired level of crispness.
  4. Make the Alfredo sauce: Using the same pan used for the chicken, heat it over medium-low heat. Add 1/2 stick of butter and let it melt. Stir in 1 tablespoon minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Lower the heat to low, then add 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese, and 1 tablespoon chopped parsley. Simmer the sauce on low, stirring continuously for about 3-5 minutes, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the garlic bread: Spread half of the Alfredo sauce over the toasted bread halves. Top with the cooked chicken pieces, shredded mozzarella cheese, then drizzle with the remaining Alfredo sauce.
  6. Bake to melt cheese: Return the assembled bread to the oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 5 minutes or until the mozzarella is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, slice the garlic bread into 2-3 inch pieces, and serve warm. Enjoy this comforting and flavorful Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread!

Notes

  • You can substitute poultry seasoning with a mix of garlic powder, dried oregano, thyme, and paprika if desired.
  • For a spicier version, increase the crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor in both the butter and sauce.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it tender and juicy.
  • Leftover garlic bread can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best results.
