Easy to make and perfect for patriotic parties or summer gatherings, these colorful treats combine creamy double-stuffed Oreos coated in smooth melted chocolate with eye-catching drizzles and sprinkles.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 36 servings

Ingredients

Oreos

  • 18.71 ounce Family size package Double Stuff Oreos (36 cookies)

Coatings

  • 10 ounce bag Ghirardelli vanilla melting wafers
  • 12 ounce bag Wilton red candy melts
  • 12 ounce bag Wilton royal blue candy melts

Decorations

  • White nonpareils

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking trays: Line baking trays with parchment paper and set aside to keep coated Oreos from sticking during cooling.
  2. Melt blue candy melts: Using a double boiler on low heat, melt about three-quarters of the royal blue candy melts, stirring occasionally until smooth. Alternatively, melt in microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each.
  3. Coat Oreos in blue melts: Place one Oreo on a fork, dip fully into the blue melts, lift and tap to remove excess. Place on parchment-lined tray, immediately top with white nonpareils. Repeat for 8-10 more cookies. Refrigerate until coating sets.
  4. Melt red candy melts: Using a double boiler or microwave, melt about three-quarters of the red candy melts until smooth.
  5. Coat Oreos in red melts: Dip Oreos fully into red melts using a fork, tap off excess and place on lined tray spaced 1-2 inches apart. Repeat for 8-10 cookies.
  6. Melt white melting wafers for drizzle: Melt about ¼ cup of white vanilla melting wafers in microwave on low setting, massaging the piping bag every 30 seconds for even heat.
  7. Drizzle white on red Oreos: Snip a small piece from the piping bag tip and drizzle lines over the red coated Oreos. Refrigerate until set.
  8. Melt remaining white melting wafers: Melt the rest of the white vanilla melting wafers using a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  9. Coat Oreos in white melts: Dip Oreos fully into white melts, tap off excess, and place on lined tray spaced apart. Repeat for 8-10 cookies.
  10. Melt remaining red and blue candy melts for drizzle: Melt the leftover red and royal blue candy melts separately in two small piping bags using microwave on low setting, massaging every 30 seconds.
  11. Drizzle red and blue over white Oreos: Snip small tips from both piping bags and drizzle lines of red and blue candy in alternating or same direction over the white coated Oreos. Refrigerate until set.
  12. Store and serve: Keep all decorated Oreos refrigerated until ready to serve for best texture and appearance.

Notes

  • Use a fork to dip Oreos gently to avoid breaking the cookies.
  • Ensure candy melts are smooth and completely melted for even coating.
  • Work quickly when dipping and decorating to avoid hardening before setting decorations.
  • Refrigerate coated Oreos after decorating to help set the candy melts firmly.
  • Space cookies 1-2 inches apart to prevent sticking as they set.
  • White nonpareils should be added immediately after dipping blue Oreos for best adherence.
  • Piping bags can be substituted with ziplock bags with a small cut on the corner if needed.
