A refreshing and vibrant Mango Matcha Latte that combines the tropical sweetness of mango with the earthy depth of matcha green tea. This easy-to-make beverage takes just 10 minutes and can be customized with your choice of milk and sweetener for a creamy, energizing treat perfect for any time of day.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Mango Puree

  • ½ cup mango (in cubes, fresh or thawed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup (more to taste)

Matcha Mix

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • ½ cup filtered water

Milk Layer

  • ¾ cup milk of choice (we recommend soy milk)
  • Splash of coconut milk (for added creaminess)
  • More sweetener (like vanilla syrup), optional

Garnish

  • Coconut whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Matcha: Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a bowl to remove clumps. Add 1 tablespoon of lukewarm filtered water and whisk vigorously until a frothy texture forms with no lumps. Continue whisking while gradually adding the remaining water until fully combined. Set aside.
  2. Make the Mango Puree: Using an immersion blender or regular blender, blend ½ cup of cubed mango until smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup, and add more syrup to taste if desired. Pour the mango puree into the bottom of a tall glass and stir gently to evenly distribute the sweetness.
  3. Add Milk Layer: Slowly pour ¾ cup of your choice of milk (soy milk recommended) over the mango puree to create a layered effect. Add a splash of coconut milk for added creaminess and sweetness. If preferred, add a little extra vanilla syrup to the milk layer and stir gently.
  4. Layer the Matcha: Give the prepared matcha a quick re-whisk to revive the frothiness. Carefully pour or spoon the matcha mixture on top of the milk layer to maintain distinct layers.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Top the latte with a generous dollop of coconut whipped cream for an extra creamy and tropical finish. Before drinking, admire the beautiful layers, then stir together and enjoy your vibrant mango matcha latte.

Notes

  • Use fresh or fully thawed frozen mango for the best flavor and texture.
  • Matcha powder should be high quality and freshly sifted to avoid clumps and bitterness.
  • Adjust the amount of sweetener according to your taste preferences.
  • Soy milk is recommended for creaminess, but almond, oat, or coconut milk can be used as alternatives.
  • For a vegan version, ensure all ingredients including sweeteners and whipped cream are plant-based.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and presentation; the layers may blend if left to sit too long.
