These Big Mac Egg Rolls offer a fun and crispy twist on the classic Big Mac flavors, wrapped in a crunchy egg roll exterior. Filled with seasoned ground beef, diced onions, pickles, and melty American cheese, these egg rolls are deep-fried to golden perfection and served with tangy Big Mac sauce, making them an irresistible appetizer or snack.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 32 dill hamburger pickle chips

Wrapping

  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For Frying and Serving

  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Big Mac sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef and onions: In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until cooked through and the onion has softened.
  2. Add seasoning: Lower the heat to low. Stir in ketchup, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and allow the mixture to cool slightly to make it easier to handle.
  3. Prepare the wrappers: Lay one egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place one slice of American cheese in the center, followed by 4 dill pickle chips.
  4. Add the beef mixture: Spoon approximately 3 tablespoons of the cooked beef and onion filling on top of the cheese and pickles.
  5. Make the sealing slurry: In a small bowl, combine the water and cornstarch to create a slurry. Brush this mixture along the edges of the egg roll wrapper to help seal.
  6. Roll the egg rolls: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to enclose the filling completely. Repeat these steps with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  7. Heat oil and fry: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches for 5 to 7 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Drain excess oil: Remove the fried egg rolls and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  9. Serve: Serve the Big Mac Egg Rolls hot with Big Mac sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure the beef mixture is cool enough before rolling to prevent the wrappers from tearing.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain the oil temperature at 350°F for the best crispy results.
  • These egg rolls can be baked as a healthier alternative, but frying gives the crispiest texture.
  • Big Mac sauce can be store-bought or homemade for an authentic experience.
  • To reheat leftovers, bake them in the oven to retain crispiness instead of microwaving.
