Ingredients
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Salmon
- 1 salmon filet (14-16 oz), skin on, deboned if desired
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine butter, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, and ground ginger. Stir continuously until the mixture is fully blended and the brown sugar has melted completely.
- Arrange Salmon: Place the salmon filet skin side down on the prepared foil-lined pan. If your salmon has bones, remove them before placing.
- Season Salmon: Lightly sprinkle salt and black pepper over the top of the salmon filet according to your taste preference.
- Apply Glaze: Spoon the prepared glaze evenly over the salmon, ensuring it is well coated for maximum flavor.
- Bake: Place the baking pan uncovered in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon filet.
- Check for Doneness: Test the salmon with a fork to see if it flakes easily; this indicates it is done. Remove from the oven once cooked through for best taste and texture.
Notes
- Deboning salmon before baking makes eating easier but is optional depending on your preference.
- Adjust baking time based on the thickness of the salmon; thicker pieces may need a few extra minutes.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
- Leftover salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- For a spicier glaze, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the sauce mixture.
