Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 pound Thinly Sliced Chicken Breast (see notes if using regular chicken breast)
Seasoning
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil, divided
- 1 ½ teaspoons Smoked Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- ½ teaspoon Table Salt
- ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the seasoning mixture: In a small bowl, mix one tablespoon of olive oil with smoked paprika, dried oregano, table salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined to create a flavorful spice oil.
- Coat the chicken: Pat the thinly sliced chicken breast dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Then, thoroughly coat the chicken pieces with the seasoned olive oil mixture for an even flavor distribution.
- Heat the skillet: Add two tablespoons of olive oil to a large skillet and place it over medium heat. Allow the olive oil to warm until it shimmers but does not smoke.
- Cook the chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breast slices in the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 4 minutes without moving, then flip each piece and continue cooking for another 3 to 4 minutes. The chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the meat is no longer pink inside.
- Serve or cool: Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and let it rest briefly. Use immediately for salads or other dishes, or allow it to cool before storing for later use.
Notes
- If only regular (thick) chicken breasts are available, slice them thinly across the grain for quicker, more even cooking.
- Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F to guarantee it is safely cooked.
- You can adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the smoked paprika and black pepper.
- Use this chicken in salads, wraps, or as a protein addition to various meals.
- Leftover chicken can be refrigerated for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
