Ingredients
Brussels Sprouts
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Microwave the Brussels sprouts: Place the trimmed Brussels sprouts in a large microwave-safe mixing bowl and microwave on high for 3 minutes to slightly soften them.
- Season the sprouts: Add olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the hot Brussels sprouts. Toss thoroughly to coat evenly and allow them to cool enough to handle safely.
- Preheat and prepare the grill: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium heat. Lightly oil the grill grates or pan surface to prevent sticking.
- Skewer the Brussels sprouts: Thread the Brussels sprouts onto 4 to 8 skewers, depending on their size. Leave about ½ inch space between each sprout to ensure even cooking.
- Grill the skewers: Place the skewers onto the preheated grill, cover, and cook for 5 minutes. Turn the skewers over carefully and grill for an additional 5 minutes until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
Notes
- Microwaving the Brussels sprouts before grilling helps ensure they cook evenly and remain tender inside.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- You can add a splash of lemon juice or balsamic glaze after grilling for extra flavor.
- Grilled Brussels sprouts pair well with grilled meats or as part of a vegetarian meal.
