Instructions
- Prepare the mushrooms: Remove the stems from the portobello mushrooms and clean the caps gently with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt without soaking them.
- Marinate: Place the mushrooms on a rimmed plate and drizzle them with extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and tamari or soy sauce. Sprinkle garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper over them. Use your hands to rub the seasonings thoroughly into both sides of each mushroom cap. If the mushrooms seem dry, add more olive oil, balsamic vinegar, or tamari as needed to ensure they are well coated.
- Heat the grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium heat, ensuring it is hot enough to sear the mushrooms without burning them.
- Grill the mushrooms: Place the mushrooms on the grill, gill side up. Cook them for 5 to 7 minutes per side, flipping carefully, until they become tender and develop charred grill marks for smoky flavor.
- Season and serve: Taste the mushrooms and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately while warm as a main or side dish.
