Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen broccoli
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Other seasonings (optional), such as garlic powder, pepper, or paprika
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450ºF (232ºC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place it inside the oven to heat up as the oven warms.
- Season Broccoli: In a large bowl, drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the frozen broccoli florets. Sprinkle salt and optionally other seasonings over the broccoli. Toss thoroughly to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with oil and seasoning.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Once the oven is preheated, carefully take out the hot baking sheet. Spread the seasoned frozen broccoli out on the sheet in a single layer, leaving space between the florets to allow for proper roasting and browning.
- Roast: Place the baking sheet back in the oven and roast the broccoli for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, stir the florets to promote even cooking and browning, then return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and has developed a light brown caramelized finish.
- Serve: Remove the roasted broccoli from the oven and transfer to a serving dish. Serve hot as a healthy and flavorful side dish.
Notes
- Do not thaw the broccoli before roasting; roasting from frozen helps achieve crispiness.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings such as garlic powder, chili flakes, or parmesan cheese for variation.
- Monitor the broccoli closely to avoid burning, especially during the final minutes of roasting.
