Passion Fruit Sauce
- 1 ½ cup fresh passion fruit pulp (about 8–10 passion fruits)
- ½ cup (100 g) caster sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1–2 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the passion fruit pulp and sugar to a small saucepan set over medium heat.
- Dissolve Sugar: Stir gently until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.
- Simmer: Cook for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Cool: Remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely.
- Adjust Flavor: Taste the sauce and add lemon juice if needed to enhance brightness and balance the sweetness.
- Strain: Strain the sauce through a fine sieve to remove some or all of the seeds, or leave them in for a rustic texture.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to taste.
- Lemon juice is optional but recommended to balance the tartness and enhance flavor.
- Can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week.
- Use as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, yogurt, or desserts.
- Leaving seeds in adds texture and visual appeal.
