- ½ tsp Salt
For the Sticky Orange Sauce:

- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 ½ tbsp Honey
- 2 tsp Rice Vinegar
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
- ½ tsp Cornstarch
For the Stir Fry:
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
- 3 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 2 cups Sugar Snap Peas, ends trimmed
- ½ Red Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- ½ tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- ¼ tsp Salt
For Serving:
- 2 cups White Rice, cooked to package instructions
- 2 tbsp Green Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp Cilantro, minced
- ½ tsp Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Prep the beef: Add the beef to a bowl along with cornstarch, vegetable oil, and salt. Use your hands to toss everything together until the beef is evenly coated. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the sauce.
- Make the orange sauce: In a large bowl, combine the orange juice and zest, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and cornstarch. Whisk until fully blended. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Cook the beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook undisturbed for about one minute to develop a crust. Flip with tongs and cook another minute until beef is crispy and browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Stir fry the vegetables: In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red bell pepper, red onion, and sugar snap peas. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
- Add aromatics: Stir in the ground ginger and minced garlic. Cook for about one minute until fragrant.
- Combine sauce and beef: Pour the prepared orange sauce into the skillet. Return the cooked beef to the pan. Simmer the mixture for 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to become bubbly, thick, and sticky.
- Finish the stir fry: Stir in butter, red pepper flakes, and salt. Mix until the butter is fully melted and incorporated. Remove skillet from heat.
- Serve: Spoon the sticky orange beef stir fry over cooked white rice. Garnish with sliced green onions, minced cilantro, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
- Use beef cuts suitable for quick stir-frying, such as flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain.
- If preferred, substitute white rice with brown rice or cauliflower rice for a lower-carb option.
- Make sure the skillet is hot enough before adding the beef to achieve a good sear and crispy texture.
