This Whipped Mozzarella & Cheddar Dip is a creamy, smooth cheese blend made from fresh mozzarella, cream cheese, and sharp white cheddar. Enhanced with a mix of sweet, spicy, and savory toppings like homemade chili oil, honey, diced fruits, scallions, and toasted sesame seeds, it is perfect for serving with crackers, crusty bread, or vegetables as a flavorful appetizer or snack.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: About 2 cups of dip, serving 6-8 people as an appetizer

Ingredients

Whipped Mozzarella & Cheddar

  • 1 8-ounce ball of Real California Milk fresh mozzarella
  • 4 ounces Real California Milk cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 5 ounces (1 1/3 cups) shredded Real California Milk sharp white cheddar

Toppings

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons finely diced fruit (such as persimmons and apples)
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons homemade chili oil, or chili crisp
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons honey
  • Thinly sliced scallions
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese mixture: Use your hands to tear the ball of mozzarella into large pieces. Place these pieces in the bowl of a food processor along with the cream cheese and shredded white cheddar.
  2. Blend until smooth: Blend the cheeses in the food processor, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Continue blending until the mixture becomes very smooth and whipped, which may take a few minutes.
  3. Transfer and shape the dip: Move the whipped cheese to a serving bowl. Use a spoon or small spatula to spread it evenly and create small waves on the surface for an inviting presentation.
  4. Add toppings: Drizzle the homemade chili oil over the dip, followed by the honey. Sprinkle the finely diced fruit on top along with the sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with crackers, crusty bread, or vegetables. For best flavor and texture, enjoy the dip on the same day it is made.

Notes

  • The homemade chili oil or chili crisp adds a nice spicy kick and complements the creamy dip beautifully.
  • Using fresh fruits like persimmons or apples provides a refreshing sweetness and crisp texture contrast.
  • If you prefer a milder dip, reduce or omit the chili oil and honey toppings.
  • This dip is best served fresh and is not recommended for storing or freezing due to texture changes.
