Ingredients
Yogurt Base
- 1/2 cup plain dairy-free yogurt (we love plain Culina)
Flavorings
- 3 small cloves garlic, minced or pressed
- 2 Tbsp fresh dill (or substitute with 1 Tbsp dried dill)
- 1 healthy pinch sea salt
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1-2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small mixing bowl, add the dairy-free yogurt, minced garlic, fresh dill, sea salt, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- Adjust Flavor: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your preference. Add more lemon juice for increased acidity, more garlic for a stronger zing, extra dill for a more pronounced herbal note, additional salt to enhance flavors, cayenne for extra heat, or olive oil for a richer texture.
- Serve: Serve the sauce immediately alongside your desired dishes such as Moroccan-Roasted Carrots, Greek Goddess Bowls, or Falafel to add a zesty, creamy element.
- Store Leftovers: Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4-5 days. Note that this sauce is not suitable for freezing as texture and flavor may degrade.
Notes
- Use fresh dill for best flavor, but dried dill works as a substitute at half the quantity.
- This sauce is dairy-free and vegan-friendly when using plant-based yogurt.
- Adjust cayenne pepper carefully to control spice level.
- Not freezer friendly; store in refrigerator only.
- Perfect for enhancing Mediterranean or Middle Eastern dishes.
